B i o g r a p h y

Sarita Marchesi is an Italian / Dutch Soprano currently living in Egypt. In 1997 she graduated at the University of Leiden in History of Art. In 2004 she graduated at the Academy of ART in Amsterdam where she specialized in Musical and Opera music.
Her mission in life is to create dialogue between different countries, cultures and religions; she was board member of the Arab film festival  in the Netherlands, one of the biggest festival in Europe and teacher for the organization Interculturesse specialized in the dialogue between arab and dutch children. 
In 2007 she performed in Peter Sellars and John Adams contemporary opera Doctor Atomic at the Amsterdam Opera House.In 2010 she sang in the modern opera Dog's heart directed by Simon Mac Burney and with music of Raskatov at the Amsterdam Opera house.In 2011 she sang a repertoire of Arie Antiche with Egyptian bariton Gaber El Beltagy at the Bibiotheca of Alexandria. Her next solo concert will take place in Alexandria in june during the celebration of 150 years of Italian Unity organized by the italian consulate. Sarita Marchesi is a teacher of musical for students of high schools in Holland.
